38Q05 Vernon to Newtown
Long Island City and the surrounding areas are experiencing rapid growth, driving an unprecedented demand on the electric grid. Since 2009, over 20,000 new residential units have been built—outpacing New York City’s overall growth rate by 5.7%. To support this expanding community, Consolidated Edison of New York has entrusted Hallen Integrated Construction with the design and construction of a new 138KV feeder, connecting the Vernon and Newtown substations.
This critical infrastructure project includes 3.5 miles of trenching, conduit installation, and the placement of transmission manholes—all within one of Queens’ most complex underground utility networks. Successfully executing a project of this scale demands unmatched expertise in the utility industry, and Hallen Integrated Construction is proud to deliver the innovation and precision required to power Long Island City’s future.
